The Naniwa Yodogawa Fireworks Festival (なにわ淀川花火大会) is held on the Yodogawa riverbed between the Shinmeidobori-dori Yodogawa Railway Bridge (新御堂筋淀川鉄橋) and National Route 2 (国道2号線), making it one of Osaka's representative fireworks festivals. Brilliant bursts of fireworks repeatedly light up Osaka's night sky, while shimmering reflections on the water's surface envelop the entire venue. The open riverbed location is a major appeal, allowing unobstructed views of fireworks overhead. Fireworks viewed under autumn's crisp night sky carry a different charm than summer festivals. Held from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM (19:00–20:00). In case of bad weather, the event may be cancelled or postponed; check the festival's official announcement beforehand to confirm whether it will take place. After the finale, large crowds move toward Juso Station (十三駅) and Shin-Osaka Station (新大阪駅), causing significant congestion on platforms and roads. After the grand finale, spend some time enjoying the afterglow on the riverbed, then stagger your departure for a smoother journey home. Some areas have dim lighting, so bringing a light is reassuring.
