The Suito Kurawanka Fireworks Festival is a fireworks display on the Yodo River co-hosted by Hirakata and Takatsuki cities. "Kurawanka" is a word derived from the small boats that called out to travelers crossing the Yodo River during the Edo period, "Mochi kurawanka (Would you like some mochi?)," and it preserves the history of water transportation in this region. On September 20, 2026 (Sunday), from 7:10 PM to 8:00 PM, 4,877 fireworks will light up the night sky above the Yodo River. With fireworks launched from both banks (the Hirakata and Takatsuki venues), you can enjoy an open-feeling viewing experience that takes advantage of the river's wide span. The reflected fireworks mirrored on the water surface and the sound of launches echoing through the autumn night breeze create the perfect climax to your day.

Secure your viewing spot about an hour before the show begins (around 6 PM) for peace of mind. The riverbed becomes dark underfoot, so don't forget a light. After the event ends, both Keihan Hirakata City Station and all JR stations are expected to be crowded, so it's recommended to enjoy the afterglow in the riverbed for a while before leaving, staggering your departure time.
