Leisurely Stroll Through the Natural Beauty of Nosegawa with Beech Forests and Flowing Streams

Nosegawa Village is surrounded by mountains of 800 to 1,000 meters in elevation and is one of Nara Prefecture's most pristine mountain villages. The village preserves primordial beech and mizunara (Japanese oak) forests, and simply walking along the hiking trail beside the clear stream lets you forget the summer heat of the city in refreshing coolness. Even in summer, temperatures remain relatively mild, and walking through dappled sunlight becomes a comfortable nature experience for children. Since the Taira-no-Koremori History Park, which serves as the fireworks venue, is also located within the village, a leisurely stroll around the area helps you scout the terrain and atmosphere, which is useful for choosing your viewing spot later.

2026年7月25日(土)20:00〜20:30開催、平維盛の大祭に奉納される花火大会です。約3,000発の花火が、光害の少ない山深い野迫川村の夜空に次々と大きく開きます。四方を山に囲まれた地形のため打ち上げ音が反響し、都会の花火大会とは比べ物にならない重低音が体に直接響きます。満天の星と花火が同時に見えるのも、標高の高い山村の会場ならではの贅沢な光景です。平家の落人伝説が息づく静かな山里で、地元の人々とともに受け継がれてきた夏の祭りに加わる30分間は、家族の夏休みの記憶に長く残るクライマックスになります。

荒天時の開催可否は野迫川村の公式情報で当日確認を。終了後は山道を車で下るため、運転者はアルコールを控え、出発前に十分休憩をとってから帰路に。夜の山道は鹿などの動物が出ることがあるため、速度を抑えて慎重に運転しましょう。帰路の国道合流点は混み合うことがあるため、時間に余裕をもって行動を。
