The drone show and fireworks launch begin at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2 (as announced by the Kesennuma Tourism and Convention Association). In case of severe weather, be sure to check whether the event will go ahead via the official announcement from the Kesennuma Minato Festival Executive Committee. Afterward, the roads toward Kesennuma Station and the area around the parking lots become very congested. It's recommended to enjoy the afterglow at the port for a while after the fireworks end before heading home, staggering your departure. Some parts of the quay are dark underfoot at night, so walk safely using a smartphone light or similar.
