Tachibana Street (橘通り) runs north-south through the heart of Miyazaki City, with palm trees as street landscaping creating a distinctly tropical atmosphere—Miyazaki's prime entertainment district. The area surrounding the street is packed with restaurants serving Miyazaki specialties such as tatsutaage (Miyazaki-style fried chicken) and charcoal-grilled local jidori chicken, making it an ideal location for pre-fireworks dinner. On the evening of the fireworks festival, the entire city is bustling, so finishing dinner earlier (by 6 PM) makes subsequent travel and securing a viewing spot much easier. After your meal, it's convenient to stock up on drinks and snacks for the fireworks show at nearby convenience stores and shops.

Tips

10 to 15 minutes by bus or car from Miyazaki Prefecture General Cultural Park. Also within walking distance from Miyazaki Station. On the evening of the fireworks festival, restaurants become crowded, so arriving during the early 4 to 5 PM time slot is recommended. After dinner, it's about 5 to 10 minutes by car, or about 20 to 25 minutes on foot to the Oyodo River banks in the Tsurushima Park area.
