Move early to Aburatsu Port, tonight's fireworks venue, to secure a viewing spot. Nichinan is a town with one of Miyazaki Prefecture's leading fishing ports, and around the port you'll find takeout options such as bento boxes and side dishes made with fresh seafood, and Nichinan's famous bonito dishes. As the sun sinks, the port's water surface turns the color of the sunset and the silhouettes of the mountains rise into view, a quiet highlight before the fireworks. Enjoy the atmosphere of the port on the day of the fireworks, with food stalls and vendors lined up, as you spread out your dinner and leisurely wait for the show to begin.

Tips

On the day of the fireworks, the area around the venue gets crowded from the evening onward, so it's reassuring to get your food and drinks early. Nearby supermarkets and convenience stores can sell out quickly. Check the location of public restrooms around the port in advance and use them before the show starts. Please be sure to take your trash home with you.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours. The port's scenery around sunset and the gradually building excitement of the growing crowd are the climax before the fireworks.
