A red brick warehouse built during the Taisho era, registered as a Nationally Registered Tangible Cultural Property and a symbol of Abutsutsu. Its sturdy brick walls and wooden timber framing remain beautifully preserved, with the interior now serving as a community gathering space hosting events and exhibitions. The port town of Abutsutsu, which once prospered through tuna fishing, has retro buildings and alleys scattered throughout, making street exploration from the red brick hall a delightful area. With Horikawa Canal nearby, a leisurely walk connecting both is recommended. Conclude your day journeying through Moai and mythological scenic vistas with a slow, historic stroll through the port town.

Tips

During events, interior viewing may not be possible, so plan to enjoy the exterior and surrounding street walks. Nearby streets are narrow, so drive carefully. Before departing, savor the port town's atmosphere as it begins to blush in the sunset glow.

Approximately 45 minutes. Late afternoon when western sunlight turns the brick a warm red is full of atmosphere.
