日本三大秘境のひとつに数えられる椎葉村の夜空に、約700発の花火が打ち上がります。四方を山に囲まれた地形が炸裂音を反響させ、体に響く独特の迫力は平野部の花火大会では感じられないものです。村の灯りが少なく空が暗いため、花火の色が夜空に際立って鮮やかに映えます。花火ひとつひとつが山々のシルエットを背景に大きく開く光景は、椎葉の大自然そのものに包まれるような体験です。平家落人伝説が眠るこの秘境の地で、夏の夜空を彩る花火は、ふだんとは違う旅の記憶として心に残ることでしょう。

開催時間は未確定のため、大会公式情報を必ず事前に確認してください。荒天時の対応(中止・延期)も公式発表で確認を。終了後は帰路の道路が限られるため、車での移動は時間に余裕を持って。椎葉村から最寄りの大きな町(延岡・熊本方面)まで山道を長時間走ることになるため、夜間運転の準備と燃料の確認も事前に済ませておきましょう。
