A castle ruins park developed on a hilltop in the Funami district, cherished by locals as a spot with beautiful views overlooking Toyama Bay and the Kurobe River alluvial fan. As evening approaches, the western sky turns crimson, and views of the alluvial fan's rice paddies and sea stretch out. On fireworks festival day, this location serves as a rest area near the viewing area, so lay down a sheet early to claim your spot and spread out any light snacks or dinner you've prepared or picked up beforehand. As the sun sets, the cool mountain breeze gradually strengthens, bringing a refreshing quality different from urban fireworks displays.

Tips

The Funami district is situated in hilly terrain within Nyuzen Town, making car access convenient. Parking spaces fill up from late afternoon through the fireworks start, so arriving by 4 p.m. is reassuring. Purchase food and beverages beforehand at supermarkets or convenience stores in Nyuzen Town.
