The Toyama Shinko Fireworks Festival is Imizu City's biggest summer festival, with more than 2,000 fireworks launched from the water around Kaiwo Maru Park. The wide seaside view lets you look up at the fireworks straight on, and you can also enjoy the shimmering reflections on the water's surface. With the silhouette of the sailing ship Kaiwo Maru, known as the 'Lady of the Sea,' in the foreground, the sight of large fireworks blooming in the night sky is a picture-perfect moment unique to this venue. The finale, with its powerful sound and light filling the entire port, is the climax of a day that will be etched deep in your summer memories.

Check the official announcement for the start time (not yet determined). Follow announcements from Imizu City or the festival organizers regarding cancellation or postponement due to bad weather. Roads and parking lot exits around the venue get extremely congested afterward, so plan to leave in a staggered fashion or arrange your shuttle bus/Manyosen Line usage in advance. Since it will be dark underfoot, a smartphone flashlight will come in handy.
