Watch approximately 7,000 fireworks light up the night Japan Sea from the sandy beach

About this spot

The "Hagi・Japan Sea Grand Fireworks Display," which marks the finale of the Hagi Summer Festival, launching on August 1, 2026 (Saturday) at 8 PM. Approximately 7,000 fireworks are launched from the sea between Hagi Commercial Port and Kikugahama Beach, brilliantly illuminating the night Japan Sea. The launch from the open sea creates impressively large fireworks, and viewing from the unobstructed sandy beach provides a wide, powerful vista. The reflection of fireworks on the sea surface adds to the beauty unique to a seaside display. After walking through Hagi Castle Town all day, sitting on white sand watching fireworks rise from the Japan Sea for one hour is a climactic moment befitting this journey.
