A plum garden spread across hills in Hikari City with approximately 25,000 plum trees, making it one of the most famous plum viewing spots in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Beyond plum blossom season, the spacious grounds are well-maintained, and as you walk along the promenade, you can view the Suo-nada Strait and Ushijima Island (牛島) floating on the horizon from the hilltop. Observing in daytime the sea where tonight's fireworks will launch from this elevated viewpoint creates a lovely sense of narrative continuity throughout your day. The abundant shade from trees makes it comfortable to walk in the shade even during hot summer days, a blessing for families. Since the garden is expansive, it's a good idea to leisurely enjoy just the first half of the walking paths without overexertion, which works out to the right amount of time.

2026年7月25日(土)20時から45分間、虹ヶ浜海水浴場一帯から打ち上げられる光花火大会です。約3,000発の花火が穏やかな周防灘の夜空に次々と大輪を開かせ、静かな波音と相まって海辺の花火大会ならではの情緒を演出します。白砂の浜辺という絶好のロケーションから、遮るものなく正面に花火を見上げられるのがこの大会の大きな魅力。フィナーレに向けて次第に規模が大きくなる連発は、浜辺の砂と波の音ごと体に響く迫力です。昼に見た青い海が夜には花火の色に染まる、光市の夏の夜の特別な時間をご家族でお楽しみください。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は光市または大会の公式発表で必ず確認してください。終了後は周辺道路と駐車場が一斉に混み合います。フィナーレ後はしばらく浜で余韻を楽しんでから動き出す時間差帰宅がおすすめです。足元が暗いのでスマートフォンのライトや小型ライトがあると安全に帰宅できます。帰りの電車・バスの時刻は事前に確認しておきましょう。

Tips

Approximately 10 minutes by car from Hikari Station (光駅). Admission is free and accessible without hesitation. In summer, sunlight is intense, so be sure to bring a hat and drinking water. Parking is available on the grounds. On the day of the fireworks festival, parking in the venue area becomes full from evening onwards, so it's reassuring to plan ahead where to park your car during that time.
