The Asa River (厚狭川) flows through Sanyo-Onoda City (山陽小野田市), and its riverside area is the stage for tonight's fireworks festival. Green spaces and a promenade have been developed along the river, making it a pleasant place to stroll and cool off in the shade of the trees. Scouting the venue's layout and viewing spots during the day makes staking out your place at night far smoother. Walking while watching the river's flow lets you picture in advance how beautiful the fireworks will look reflected on the water tonight. The summer riverside stays cool in the shade, making it a good place for children to take a break too.

Tips

Within walking distance of Asa Station (厚狭駅). Checking during the day where the temporary restrooms and food stalls will be set up, along with good viewing spots, gives you more room to relax at night. Some sections of the ground are grassy or gravelly, so we recommend wearing comfortable sneakers.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. In the afternoon, the shade is cooled by a breeze off the river, making it a pleasant time for a stroll
