This park runs along the bank of the Asa River (厚狭川) and is themed around the local folktale ‘The Tale of Netaro of Asa’ (厚狭の寝太郎物語), with five zones laid out: Dream Plaza, Sengoku-bune Ship, Straw Sandal, Barrel, and Gold Dust. Throughout the park you'll find story-inspired details, such as a vermilion-lacquered shelter shaped like a straw sandal, a bench shaped like a barrel, and a lawn planted with cherry trees. Move to the riverbank about an hour before the fireworks begin and spread out a leisure sheet to secure your spot. You can enjoy food-stall fare while watching the darkening sky and the changing colors of the river as you wait for the show to start.
Tips
Insects increase along the river from evening onward, so we recommend reapplying insect repellent around this time. The food-stall area starts getting crowded an hour before the show, so pick up snacks early. It's also reassuring to check emergency routes before it gets dark underfoot.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 10 minutes. You can leisurely enjoy the riverside atmosphere as it shifts from dusk into night
