Always check the official announcement from Yonezawa City or the festival organizers regarding cancellation due to bad weather. Viewing spots are free within the park, but good locations fill up early. After the event, surrounding roads and the Yonezawa Station area will be congested, so it's recommended to remain in the park and savor the afterglow before departing.
