米沢納涼水上花火大会は、松が岬公園のお堀を舞台に毎年8月に開催される、米沢の夏を代表する花火大会です。「水上花火大会」の名のとおり、堀の水面に向かって打ち上げられる花火は、上空に大きく開くと同時に水面にも鮮やかな光を映し、二重の美しさを楽しめます。城址の松並木や石垣をシルエットにした情景の中で花火を観覧できるのは、松が岬公園ならではの風景です。夜空に響く打ち上げ音は堀に囲まれた空間に反響し、体に届く迫力も格別。上杉の城下町で受け継がれてきた夏の風物詩を、家族そろって堀端から楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は米沢市または大会主催者の公式発表で必ず確認を。観覧場所は無料の公園内ですが、良い場所は早めに場所取りを。終了後は周辺道路と米沢駅方面が混雑するため、花火終了後はしばらく公園内で余韻を楽しんでから移動するのがおすすめです。帰りの交通手段(JR米坂線・奥羽本線、タクシー)は事前に確認しておきましょう。

Tips

Approximately 5 minutes on foot from Matsugasaki Park. On the day of the fireworks festival, congestion is especially expected during the evening hours, so a reservation is strongly recommended. Be sure to check business hours and closed days on their official website beforehand. After your meal, walk back to Matsugasaki Park and head to the viewing spot along the moat.
