About this spot

An ancient Jodo-sect temple located in Kofu city, said to have originated when Takeda Shingen moved the principal image of Shinshuu Zenkoji Temple during the Battle of Kawanakajima. The main hall is counted among Japan's largest wooden architectural structures, with a width of about 40m and depth of about 54m—a magnificent scale that makes visitors instinctively stop in their tracks. The stone-paved approach leading from the gate to the main hall has charm, and the entire temple grounds are enveloped in a quiet, solid tranquility. The "Okaidin Meguri" (pilgrimage through absolute darkness) inside the main hall is an experience of walking through true darkness that captivates both children and adults.

2026年8月7日(金)19時15分から21時まで、三郡橋下流の笛吹川河畔で開催される神明の花火大会です。約20,000発という圧倒的な打上数を誇り、山梨県内最大規模、全国でも屈指の花火大会として知られています。笛吹川の川幅を活かしたワイドスターマインや、スターマインの連続打ちが夜空を埋め尽くし、大輪の花火が川面にも映り込む絶景は見る人を圧倒します。周囲を山に囲まれた盆地特有の地形が音を反響させ、体の芯まで伝わる重低音も神明の花火ならでは。約1時間45分にわたって繰り広げられる光と音の競演は、夏の山梨の夜のクライマックスです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表で確認してください。終了後は観覧エリア周辺の道路が非常に混雑します。公共交通機関利用の場合はJR身延線の帰りの時刻を事前に調べ、終了直後の混雑を避けて時間差で移動するのがおすすめです。河畔は終演後に足元が暗くなるため、ライトを手元に準備しておきましょう。

Tips

From Kofu Station, approximately 10 minutes by bus or taxi. Admission: 500 yen for adults (including Okaidin Meguri). The drive to the Ichikawa Mishato fireworks venue is approximately 30-40 minutes south. When heading to the Ichikawa Mishato area on the return, congestion is expected, so adjust your prayer time to depart around 4 PM.
