The grand fireworks display of the 68th Toki City Oribe Festival (土岐市織部まつり), held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, takes place on the Toki River (土岐川) riverbed, with about 3,500 fireworks launched from 7:40 PM to 8:10 PM (launched from Asano Green Space Park, 浅野緑地公園). Large bursts that open across the full width of the river reflect on the water's surface too, creating a spectacular sight with light shimmering in both the sky and the water. This fireworks display has long been loved locally as the summer festival of one of Gifu Prefecture's leading pottery-producing areas, and the rapid-fire finale delivers an overwhelming scale you feel with your whole body, sound echoing along the river included. Wrap up a summer night in Toki with your family amid the lively atmosphere of the Oribe Festival (織部まつり), held in this hometown of Mino ware.

Tips

The event goes ahead in light rain but is canceled in severe weather (with no rain date), so be sure to check whether it's on via official announcements from Toki City or the festival organizers. After the show, the route back toward JR Tokishi Station (JR土岐市駅) gets crowded, so it's recommended to linger by the riverside enjoying the afterglow for a while after the finale before heading home at a staggered time. Some parts of the path home are dark underfoot, so make use of a flashlight or your smartphone's light.
