Next stop: Watch about 3,500 fireworks from the banks of the Toki River, the climax of the Oribe FestivalAbout this spot
The banks of the Toki River (土岐川) stretching from Toto Ohashi Bridge (陶都大橋) to Kunicho Bridge (国長橋) are the main venue for tonight's fireworks. As evening approaches, food stalls line up and the summer-festival buzz builds. Fill up on classic festival fare like yakisoba, fried chicken, and shaved ice while taking your time to secure a viewing spot. The evening breeze off the river feels pleasant, and as the sun sinks and the riverside air fills with festival mood, it becomes an irreplaceable time before the fireworks begin. Strolling among the food stalls with the kids is also a treat unique to this time of day. Be sure to check the location of the restrooms early.
Tips
Within walking distance of JR Tokishi Station (JR土岐市駅). On the day of the fireworks, roads in the area get congested from evening onward, so accessing the area by public transport or on foot is more reliable than by car. Secure your viewing spot early. Food from the stalls produces trash, so please bring a trash bag and take your own garbage home.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 30 minutes. Ideally, arrive more than an hour before the start to secure both a spot and food
