Tase-ko Lake Festival Water & Aerial Fireworks Display (shore of Lake Tase)
Flow of the course
About this spot
The climax of the Tase-ko Lake Festival, the Water & Aerial Fireworks Display is a major summer event staged over a quiet lake tucked among the mountains. The aerial fireworks launched from the lake bloom large in the night sky, their sound echoing off the surrounding mountains with a force that resonates to the core. The underwater fireworks spread bursts of light in a half-circle right at the water's surface, and their rivalry with the inverted fireworks reflected on the lake creates a spectacle unique to Lake Tase. Enjoyed amid nature wrapped by mountains and lake, quite different from a fireworks festival in the city, it's a summer tradition of Iwate.
Fireworks details
Name: 田瀬湖湖水まつり 水・空中花火大会
Date & time: 7/25 (Sat) Time TBA
Venue: 花巻市・田瀬湖湖畔
Tips
Be sure to check the show's timing through official announcements on the day. Also follow the event organizer's official announcements on whether the show will proceed in bad weather. Roads around the venue get congested afterward, so it's recommended to enjoy the afterglow by the lakeshore for a while after the finale before heading back, staggering your departure. It gets dark underfoot, so a small light is reassuring.
