About this spot

A campsite spreading along the shore of Lake Tase (田瀬湖) with grounds covering 57,000 square meters. It has 33 car-camping sites, including powered sites, plus free sites, along with a cooking area and restrooms. Tase Fishing Park (田瀬釣り公園) is right next door, and the lake also offers sailing and canoeing. On the day of the Lake Festival, food stalls line the shore, creating a lively atmosphere. Spread out your picnic sheet early to claim a viewing spot, then enjoy food-stall fare as you wait leisurely for the show to start in the cool evening breeze unique to a mountain lake.

Tips

About 40–50 minutes by car from central Hanamaki. Parking around the venue can fill up early, so allow plenty of time to arrive. Insect repellent is a must by the lakeshore in the evening. It gets cooler than you'd expect at night, so bring something to layer on. It's reassuring to check the location of the restrooms while it's still light out.
