Known nationwide as a symbol of Rikuzentakata, this is the single pine tree that miraculously survived the Great East Japan Earthquake tsunami. It was the only survivor among the approximately 70,000 pines that once lined Takada Matsubara, and after preservation treatment, it now stands as a monument on site. Standing dignified against the blue sky, it possesses such presence that no matter how many photographs you've seen, standing before it in person leaves you speechless. Tonight's fireworks will be launched from Takada Matsubara Sports Park beside this lone pine tree. Confronting the single pine tree before the fireworks ensures the light of the launch resonates even more deeply in your heart.

2026年10月11日(日)19時から20時まで、高田松原運動公園から約15,000発以上が打ち上げられる岩手県有数の大花火大会です。震災からの復興を歩んできた陸前高田の地で開かれるこの花火大会は、地域の人々にとってもこの土地を訪れる人にとっても、特別な意味を持つ一夜です。秋の空は夏に比べて澄んでおり、花火の光がくっきりと夜空に映えます。連発の大玉やスターマインが次々と開くフィナーレは、復興への感謝と前向きな未来への思いを乗せた光の饗宴として、1日の記憶を深く刻んでくれます。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は主催者の公式発表で確認してください。終演後は帰路が混雑するため、フィナーレ後はしばらく会場で余韻を楽しんでから移動するのが安心です。10月の夜は気温が10℃前後まで下がることがあるため、厚手の上着や膝掛けを準備しておきましょう。駐車場やシャトルバスの情報は大会公式サイトで事前に確認を。

Tips

Located within Takada Matsubara Tsunami Recovery Memorial Park, just a short walk from Michi-no-Eki Takada Matsubara. Viewing is free. A promenade is maintained to the base of the pine tree, making it easy for commemorative photos. The surrounding area has little shade, so even in October, don't forget a hat and water on days with strong sunlight.
