About this spot
A municipal park in the western part of Higashi-Hiroshima that makes use of the nature of Kagamiyama (鏡山). Walking the garden paths along the mountainside, you can overlook the Higashi-Hiroshima cityscape and distant mountain ranges from the observation plaza. The spacious lawn plaza allows children to run freely, making it perfect for burning off energy before the fireworks festival. While the park changes its appearance seasonally—cherry blossoms in spring, fresh green in early summer—summer's tree shade keeps it cool and perfect for a picnic-like atmosphere. Spend the time until evening leisurely in nature.

Tips
About 10 minutes by car from JR Saijo Station (西条駅); local buses are also available, but check the schedule in advance. The park has elevation changes, so comfortable shoes are recommended for small children. Restroom facilities are available in the park. Insects increase in the evening, so apply insect repellent spray before leaving the park.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 45 minutes required. Afternoon dappled sunlight is pleasant, and the views from the observation plaza are delightful
