Before the main fireworks display, finish your dinner in the area in front of Saijo Station. Around the station are supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants offering takeout, making it a convenient place to pick up food and drinks to bring to the fireworks venue. On the evening of the fireworks display, the area around the venue starts to get crowded, so finishing your shopping and meal here means you won't have to rush after moving on. Using the restrooms at the station too lets you avoid lines at the venue. Cool off, take your time getting ready, and head off toward the night of fireworks.

Tips

On the day of the fireworks display, the area around the venue gets busy from evening onward. It's reassuring to buy drinks and snacks from a convenience store early. Double-check here that you haven't forgotten anything, such as your leisure sheet or insect repellent spray. The venue, around Akitsu Port (あきつ港) in Akitsu-cho (安芸津町), is some distance from the Saijo area, so check your transportation (JR or car) and travel time in advance.
