A Japanese restaurant in Okugawachi, Minami Town, set in a renovated traditional farmhouse. Its signature dish, the Umi-Yama Gohan (Sea-and-Mountain Rice Bowl, 海山ごはん), lets you enjoy locally caught sashimi together with fried Awa Odori chicken (阿波尾鶏), and it's about a 10-minute walk from Roadside Station Hiwasa (道の駅日和佐). On the day of the Hiwasa Sea Turtle Festival, the whole town buzzes with energy, and the festive mood builds through the evening as the fireworks approach. A hearty dinner combining the bounty of both sea and mountain will keep you comfortable all the way through the night's fireworks.

Food stalls only appear on the day of the festival, so their locations and offerings can't be confirmed in advance, but it's customary for food stalls to line up at this seaside fireworks festival. Crowds are expected, so it's reassuring to pick up drinks in advance at the roadside station. Be sure to use the restroom early.
