About this spot

A Komatsushima City facility repurposed from the former Nankai Ferry Terminal Building at Komatsushima Port, equipped with a second-floor hall usable for concerts and other events, two large meeting rooms, and kocolo, an exchange space open to anyone for studying or working. On the day of the port festival, food stalls line the area around this Shinko District (新港地区). Since the color of the sky over the harbor changes moment by moment at dusk, it's reassuring to decide on your viewing spot while it's still bright before sunset.

Tips

It's recommended to finish eating and drinking at the food stalls before the fireworks begin. Convenience stores and restaurants around the venue get rapidly crowded from 5:00 p.m. onward and can sell out, so secure your drinks early. Restrooms tend to form lines, so use them 30 minutes before the fireworks start. Be sure to prepare to take your trash home with you.

Best time to visit

Allow about 2 hours 45 minutes; watching the harbor sky change from dusk to night is one of the pleasures along the way
