About this spot
Toyohashi Park (豊橋公園), spreading along the Toyokawa River in the central part of Toyohashi, is a historic park developed from the castle ruins of Yoshida Castle, which has continued since the Warring States period. The restored iron guard tower (tetsu yagura / 鉄櫓) is one of Toyohashi's symbols and, along with the stone walls, conveys the vestiges of the ancient castle architecture to the present day. Walking along the park's footpaths allows you to feel the flow of the Toyokawa River up close, and from here you can also confirm the direction where tonight's fireworks will be launched. The spacious lawn plaza is also ideal for families to spend time leisurely, so enjoy a moment of the day in the cool shade of trees. Free admission makes it an easy spot to visit and a good starting point for exploring Toyohashi.

豊橋祇園祭花火大会は2026年7月18日(土)18時から21時まで、豊川河畔から約12,000発が打ち上げられる愛知県東部最大級の花火大会です。豊川の川幅を活かしたワイドスターマインや尺玉の大輪が次々と夜空を彩り、川面に映る逆さ花火の美しさも河畔観覧ならではの醍醐味。3時間にわたる長丁場の大会は、スターマインの連発からクライマックスのフィナーレまで、見応えのある演目が続きます。川沿いの土手から見上げる花火は周囲が開けていて遮るものがなく、全天に広がる花火の迫力を体全体で感じられます。祇園祭の祭りの雰囲気と合わさった夏の夜の豊橋は、忘れがたい思い出になるはずです。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は豊橋市または豊橋祇園祭の公式発表で確認してください。終了後は周辺道路と豊橋駅周辺が大混雑します。21時のフィナーレ後は河畔で少し余韻を楽しんでから、混雑が落ち着いた頃合いを見計らって帰路につくのがおすすめ。JR豊橋駅・名鉄豊橋駅への道は事前に確認しておきましょう。足元が暗い場所もあるのでライトを携帯してください。

About 15 minutes' walk from Toyohashi Station, or take the streetcar and exit at the City Hall stop, then a 5-minute walk. The exterior of the iron tower can be viewed for free. There are restrooms in the park. From evening onward, the number of spectators for the fireworks festival increases, so it's recommended to stroll leisurely during the daytime before the crowds arrive.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. You can fully enjoy the scenery along the Toyokawa River and the atmosphere of the castle ruins in the bright afternoon light.
