Built in 1931 (Showa 6), Toyohashi City Hall is a modern architectural landmark of Toyohashi's downtown, designated as a Nationally Registered Tangible Cultural Property. The Renaissance-style exterior with its white walls and massive columns is impressive and perfect for commemorative photos. The surrounding area includes Toyohashi City Hall and the Toyohashi Museum of Art and History nearby, forming a cultural zone in the historic downtown district. Exterior viewing of the city hall is free, and you can enjoy the entire building's appearance from the front plaza. From here, walk toward the front of Toyohashi Station while taking in Toyohashi's characteristic streetscape, including shopping streets and avenues where the streetcar runs.

豊橋祇園祭花火大会は2026年7月18日(土)18時から21時まで、豊川河畔から約12,000発が打ち上げられる愛知県東部最大級の花火大会です。豊川の川幅を活かしたワイドスターマインや尺玉の大輪が次々と夜空を彩り、川面に映る逆さ花火の美しさも河畔観覧ならではの醍醐味。3時間にわたる長丁場の大会は、スターマインの連発からクライマックスのフィナーレまで、見応えのある演目が続きます。川沿いの土手から見上げる花火は周囲が開けていて遮るものがなく、全天に広がる花火の迫力を体全体で感じられます。祇園祭の祭りの雰囲気と合わさった夏の夜の豊橋は、忘れがたい思い出になるはずです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は豊橋市または豊橋祇園祭の公式発表で確認してください。終了後は周辺道路と豊橋駅周辺が大混雑します。21時のフィナーレ後は河畔で少し余韻を楽しんでから、混雑が落ち着いた頃合いを見計らって帰路につくのがおすすめ。JR豊橋駅・名鉄豊橋駅への道は事前に確認しておきましょう。足元が暗い場所もあるのでライトを携帯してください。

Tips

About 5 minutes' walk from Toyohashi Park. Exterior viewing is free and open to the public. For interior viewing, please check Toyohashi City's website in advance. You can also visit the nearby Toyohashi Museum of Art and History. The Shiyakusho-mae (City Hall) streetcar stop is right nearby, making it convenient for your next move.
