Shirahama Park (白浜公園), spreading along the bank of the Yahagi River (矢作川), is the main viewing area for the Toyota Oidenmatsuri Festival Fireworks Display. The lawn area along the river is close to the fireworks launch site and offers an open, unobstructed view, letting you enjoy powerful fireworks. As evening arrives, food stalls line up, and the area becomes wrapped in the lively atmosphere of the Oidenmatsuri Festival. If you secure a viewing spot during this time and finish dinner with food-stall fare or a light meal you brought, you can spend the time before the fireworks begin at a relaxed pace. The river breeze starting to blow, making it feel cooler than during the day, is also characteristic of this time of evening.

Tips

It's within walking distance of Toyotashi Station (豊田市駅), but arrive early on fireworks day to secure a spot. Some food stall items sell out before the show starts, so get dinner early. Mosquitoes increase along the river from evening onward, so don't forget insect repellent. It's reassuring to check the location of restrooms while it's still light out.

About 1 hour 30 minutes. The evening view of the Yahagi River around sunset is the most beautiful time of the day
