Kuragaike Park (鞍ヶ池公園), in the northern part of Toyota City, is a municipal park where expansive nature spreads out around Kuragaike Pond (鞍ヶ池). The promenade circling the pond is lush with greenery, and even in summer there's plenty of shade, making it relatively cool to spend time there. The park also has a family-friendly animal petting zone and a botanical garden, making it an enjoyable spot for children and adults alike. Refreshing yourself in nature before heading to the fireworks venue will help you stay energized through the long evening ahead. The way the color of the sky reflected on the pond's surface changes as evening approaches is also one of the highlights.

Tips

Access by car or bus is convenient from Toyotashi Station (豊田市駅). The park is free, but some facilities may charge a fee, so check locally. Stroll with enough time to spare so you can leave for the fireworks venue a little after 17:00. Since the roads get congested on the way home on fireworks day, public transportation is a reassuring way to travel.
