This summer fireworks display is the climax of the Gamagori Festival, held from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Fireworks launched from around Takeshima Wharf bloom one after another in vivid colors, with the broad surface of Mikawa Bay as their stage. In the quiet of the calm inner bay, the sound of the fireworks echoes off the water, and the flickering reflections on the surface are one of the highlights. Watching against a night view with the silhouette of Takeshima in the foreground is a location unique to Gamagori. As the finale approaches with continuous bursts, the flood of light filling both sea and sky at once is spectacular.

Tips

Check the official announcement from Gamagori City or the event organizers in advance in case the display is affected by bad weather. The area around JR Gamagori Station gets very crowded after the event ends. It's more comfortable to wait a while after the finale before moving, or to stagger your trip home. It gets dark underfoot, so a smartphone light or small lantern is reassuring to have. Check the time of the last train in advance to prepare for crowding on the way home.
