The area around Takeshima Wharf is the main viewing area for the fireworks display, bustling with many food stalls on the day of the event. Pick up classic summer festival food like seafood stalls, takoyaki, and yakitori, then spread out a picnic sheet and enjoy a relaxed meal. As dusk falls over Mikawa Bay, the colors of the sky and sea change moment by moment, making for a beautiful time even before the fireworks begin. If you wait too long to claim a spot, the good viewing areas will fill up, so it's best to secure your place sometime between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Also check the location of the restrooms while it's still light out.

Tips

It's about a 5-minute walk from Takeshima Beach to Takeshima Wharf. Roads in the area may be closed to traffic from evening onward on the day of the fireworks display. The area around the food stalls gets crowded, so pick up drinks and snacks early. Dispose of trash at designated spots, or take it home with you. Convenience stores near the venue tend to sell out quickly, so it's a good idea to stock up earlier in the day.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 30 minutes. The sunset over Mikawa Bay around sundown is the most beautiful time of the day.
