真岡市役所東側の五行川河畔を舞台に、約15,000発の花火が夜空を彩る真岡市夏祭大花火大会です。スターマインや大玉など変化に富んだプログラムが90分にわたって続き、川面に映る光の帯が揺れる様子は河畔ならではの美しさです。フィナーレに向けて打ち上げの密度が上がり、夜空を埋め尽くす連発の迫力は、栃木県内でも屈指の規模を誇る15,000発ならではのスケール感です。川沿いに広がる観覧エリアから見上げる花火は、この1日のすべてのクライマックスにふさわしい絶景です。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は真岡市の公式発表で確認してください。終了後は周辺道路と駐車場が大変混雑するため、花火終了直後すぐに移動せず、河畔で余韻を楽しんでから時間差で帰宅するとスムーズです。帰り道の足元が暗い箇所があるため、小さなライトがあると安心です。
Tips
About 15 minutes by car from Ninomiya Roadside Station. Entry to the grounds is free. Parking is available. In summer, the shade along the approach is cool; take water breaks as you leisurely walk the grounds. Since you'll be heading next to the Gokogawa River bank venue, depart with adequate time.
Best time to visit
Takes approximately 45 minutes. An ideal time to worship quietly amid dappled afternoon sunlight.
