Adjacent to Ninomiya Shrine, this museum displays materials on the life of Ninomiya Sontoku (Kinjiro) and his achievements in rural revitalization. Moka City has deep ties to Sontoku, who spent his later years leading agricultural reforms from the Sakuramachi administrative office (桜町陣屋) here, making a visit meaningful for understanding the background of tonight's fireworks display's name. The exhibits are compact and easy for children to enjoy. Understanding how the local summer festival came to be makes watching the fireworks that night even more moving. Reflect on Moka's history and the lives of its people as you kick off a great day.
Tips
Right next to Ninomiya Shrine, so no travel is needed. Admission is about 200 yen for adults (please confirm in advance). Opening hours may differ between weekdays and holidays, so it's a good idea to check Moka City's official website before visiting.
Best time to visit
About 40 minutes. Around midday it's often uncrowded, so you can view the exhibits at a relaxed pace.
