Next stop: Watch the Fireworks Spread Over Okinawa's Night Sea from the SandAbout this spot
This bistro sits along National Route 58 in Onna Village, close to Maegane Fishing Port (前兼久漁港). It's a grown-up hideaway where you can enjoy carefully selected natural wines alongside dishes made to complement them, with the house specialty being a chef's-choice menu using seasonal Okinawan ingredients. Enjoy seafood from waters near Okinawa and the branded pork Kinjo Agu (金城アグー) in a course of 5 to 6 dishes. Finishing your meal in the early evening lets you avoid rushing through the crowds once the fireworks begin. The way the sky's colors shift during an Okinawan sunset is beautiful, and this mealtime will also become a fine memory of the day.
Tips
Some restaurants get crowded in the evening on the day of the fireworks. An early dinner around 5:00 p.m. is recommended. There are also convenience stores along the national route, so it's reassuring to pick up drinks and snacks for watching the fireworks at the same time. After the meal, calculate your travel time to the beach before setting out.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 45 minutes. Take your time recharging with tropical cuisine while gazing at the sea at dusk.
