A museum located beside the Urasoe Gusuku hill that introduces the history and culture of Urasoe City. You can learn Urasoe's journey from the era of King Eiso before the Ryukyu Kingdom to modern times through abundant exhibits. The displays related to King Eiso, praised as "Tedako (Child of the Sun)," are an excellent gateway to understanding the origin of today's festival name. The museum is air-conditioned, allowing you to view exhibits calmly while avoiding the intense Okinawan afternoon heat. Many panel displays are easy for children to understand, making it suitable for family visits. The permanent exhibition is compact, making it ideal for a preliminary visit before viewing the Gusuku.

てだこポケットフェスタ〜浦添てだこまつり〜のフィナーレを飾る花火が、浦添カルチャーパーク上空に打ち上がります。地域の文化・芸術の発信拠点であるアイム・ユニバースてだこホールを舞台に繰り広げられるこの祭りは、浦添市を代表する秋の風物詩です。昼間の観光で「てだこ(太陽の子)」の歴史に触れてきた分、祭りの名前と花火の光が心の中で重なる特別な瞬間になるはずです。祭りの熱気が最高潮に達した夜空を彩る花火は、この1日をしめくくるにふさわしいクライマックスです。フィナーレの余韻を楽しんだら、混雑が落ち着くのを待ってからゆっくり帰路につきましょう。
Tips
花火は19:50〜20:00の予定。荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表を確認してください。終了後はゆいレール浦添前田駅方面への帰路が混み合うため、時間差での移動がおすすめです。足元が暗くなるので、スマホのライト機能や小型ライトを活用して安全に移動しましょう。

About 15 minutes on foot from Yui Rail Urasoe Maeda Station, or by bus. Admission: 200 yen for adults, free for high school students and under (confirmation required). The museum is often closed on Mondays, so please confirm opening days in advance. The museum shop also sells folk crafts related to Urasoe.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. The morning to early afternoon shortly after opening is less crowded, allowing you to view exhibits at leisure.
