From 7:30 PM to 8:10 PM on July 23, 2026 (Thursday), approximately 2,000 fireworks will be launched from Omifunako Nakahama Swimming Beach. Against the vast water surface of Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake, star mines and large shells burst successively into the night sky. The beauty of the inverted fireworks reflected on the calm water is a spectacular sight unique to an inland lake, and the contrast between the silhouettes of the Hira Mountains and the light of the fireworks is breathtaking. Accompanied by the gentle breeze crossing the lake shore instead of wave sounds, enjoy approximately 40 minutes of brilliant light and sound from the lake. Check the official announcement of the organizers for any weather-related cancellation. Immediately after the finale, Omifunako Station will be extremely crowded, so it's recommended to savor the lingering impressions on the lake shore for a while before heading home at a staggered time. Check the schedule for the return Kosei Line trains in advance. Bring a light source as the ground becomes dark.
