About a 3-minute walk from JR Omi-Maiko Station, this 'lake house' stands right in front of Lake Biwa. It has a roofed barbecue space, with a choice between a no-gear-needed plan that provides equipment and ingredients or a bring-your-own plan. Cottage stays, a sauna, and waterside activities are also available. Once you've secured a spot on the lakeshore, spread out your dinner and relax while waiting for the show to start. Insects tend to increase around the lake in the evening, so apply insect repellent early. Once it gets dark all around, the fireworks are finally about to begin.

Tips

Buy your food and drinks around Omi-Maiko Station or before you move on. On the evening of the fireworks, shops and vending machines around the lakeshore also get crowded. It's reassuring to check the location of restrooms while it's still light. You may need a light jacket soon after sunset.
