Lake Yogo (余呉湖), also called "Mirror Lake," is a small mountain lake with a circumference of approximately 6 km. When there is no wind, the lake surface becomes perfectly still like a mirror, reflecting the surrounding mountains. Spots related to the celestial maiden legend, such as the "Koromo-kake Yanagi" (衣掛柳) willow tree where a heavenly maiden is said to have hung her feathered robe, are scattered along the lakeside. You can follow these legendary sites while strolling. Walking around the Yogo Lake Greenery Square (余呉湖緑地広場), which is also the venue for tonight's fireworks festival, will help you gauge the best viewing spot for the evening. October is when autumn foliage begins, and the colors starting to tint the mountain ridges combined with the lake's serenity create an autumnal atmosphere.

Tips
荒天時の開催可否は大会公式発表を必ず確認してください。終了後はJR余呉駅に向かう人が集中するため、しばらく湖畔で余韻を楽しんでから時間差で移動するのがおすすめです。余呉駅からのJR湖西線・北陸本線の帰りの電車時刻は事前に確認し、乗り遅れのないよう余裕を持って行動しましょう。足元が暗いため小型ライトが役立ちます。
Tips
From JR Yogo Station (余呉駅), you can reach the lakeside in approximately 3 minutes on foot. The promenade is well-maintained and easy to walk, but after sunset there is little lighting, so it's recommended to walk during daylight. October afternoons see temperatures beginning to drop, so bring a jacket.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. On a windless afternoon, the lake's reflections are beautifully visible.
