天草ほんど花火大会は、天草市の夏を代表する花火大会で、本渡港一帯を会場に開催されます。2026年は7月25日(土)の午後8時20分から午後8時40分にかけて打ち上げが行われます。港を囲む水面の上空で開く花火は、海面への映り込みと相まって幻想的な光景を作り出します。天草の島々が連なる夜の水平線を背景に、色とりどりの花火が次々と夜空を彩る約20分間は、この1日の旅のクライマックスです。潮風とともに響く打ち上げの音、海面に広がる光の輪——天草の夏にしかない特別な景色を、家族で見上げてください。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大会主催者の公式発表で必ず確認してください。終了後は本渡港周辺の道路と駐車場が混み合うため、花火終了後はしばらく港の余韻を楽しんでから帰路につくのがおすすめです。足元が暗くなるためスマートフォンのライトや小型ライトがあると安全です。

Tips

About 15 minutes on foot from Hondo Bus Center, or about 5 minutes by car. Admission is around 300 yen for adults and 150 yen for children (confirmation required). Parking available. The museum shop carries Christian-related books and goods. Late morning visits often have fewer crowds, allowing you to view exhibits at a leisurely pace.
