A symbolic landmark of Ryuhoku Town and historic castle ruins positioned on a hilltop overlooking Tomioka Bay. During the Shimabara-Amakusa Rebellion of 1637 (the Amakusa Rebellion), it served as a stronghold for the Bakufu forces that defended against attacks by the rebel army, and stone walls and reconstructed buildings remain today. From the observation platform at the castle ruins, you can see the blue Amakusa Nada, Tomioka Bay, and Tomioka Port where tonight's fireworks will light up, providing an excellent vantage point to understand the topography of all of Ryuhoku Town. Viewing this scenery in the light of day will make the night fireworks feel even more special. Developed as a castle park, it's an easy destination for families to stroll through casually.

2026年7月18日(土)20時10分から20時40分まで、富岡港船客待合所横の防波堤から打ち上げられる苓北じゃっと祭の花火大会です。約700発の花火が苓北の夜空を彩り、穏やかな港の海面に光が映って広がる様子は、小さな漁港ならではの親密な迫力があります。大規模大会のような人混みに揉まれることなく、家族でゆったりと花火を間近に感じられる距離感が苓北の花火の大きな魅力です。祭りのフィナーレを飾る連発が港の空を埋め尽くす瞬間、苓北の夏の夜は最高潮を迎えます。潮の香りと波音、そして花火の音が重なる30分間を、家族みんなでゆっくり味わってください。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は苓北町または大会主催者の公式発表で必ず確認してください。終了後は会場周辺の道路が混雑することがあるため、フィナーレ後は少し時間をおいてから移動するのがおすすめです。帰路は足元が暗い場所もあるため、スマートフォンのライトを活用して安全に移動しましょう。

Tips

About 15 minutes on foot from Tomioka Port, or within 5 minutes by car. Free admission. The hilltop has strong sunlight, so don't forget a hat and sunscreen. Some areas are not paved, so wear comfortable shoes. Rest briefly on the observation platform bench before heading to the next destination.
