The gateway to Kaga Onsen Gorge connecting four hot springs—Yamashiro, Yamanaka, Katayamazu, and Awazu—underwent major renovations following the extension opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen (2024). Shops selling Kaga specialty products and tourist information centers are gathered in and around the station, where you can see regional souvenirs all in one place, including Kaga stick tea (加賀棒茶), Kutani ware (九谷焼), local wagashi, and renowned sweets from Echizen and Kaga. After visiting Natadera Temple, stop by to stock up on light meals and drinks before the evening fireworks. With many benches around the station, it is an easy place to rest, making it ideal for spending the hot afternoon hours comfortably indoors.

加賀温泉郷 納涼花火まつり in 片山津温泉は、2026年8月1日(土)から8月30日(日)まで毎夜21時ごろから約10分間開催される、夏の夜の恒例行事です。打ち上げ場所は柴山潟の湖上で、静かな湖面が花火の光をそのまま映し出す「逆さ花火」が大きな見どころ。湖に浮かぶ浮御堂のシルエットと大輪の花火が重なる構図は、片山津温泉でしか出会えない絵画のような光景です。約200発という数はコンパクトながら、休みなく打ち上がる10分間は密度が高く見ごたえがあります。温泉街の旅館の灯りと湖面の反射が作り出す幻想的な空間で、加賀の夏の夜を存分に味わいましょう。
Tips
荒天時は中止または延期になる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は加賀市または片山津温泉観光協会の公式発表で確認を。花火終了後は湖畔周辺の駐車場や温泉街の道路が混み合うため、すぐに移動せず湖畔で余韻を楽しんでから帰路につくと渋滞を避けやすいです。翌日以降も毎夜開催されるため、悪天候の場合は翌日リベンジも検討を。

Approximately 15 minutes by car from Natadera Temple. After evening, tourist crowds concentrate here, so it is best to complete souvenir purchases during this time. Items like Kaga stick tea and processed nodoguro (high-value fish) that can be stored at room temperature can be purchased early and placed in the trunk, so they won't burden your luggage.

Plan for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Spend the afternoon comfortably indoors in the cool air, ideal for resting before moving to the lakeside in the evening.
