The Saigawa Bridge crosses the Saigawa River flowing through the center of Kanazawa, and the riverside greenery area is close to tonight's fireworks viewing area. From late afternoon, crowds begin to gather in preparation for the fireworks festival, and food stalls and vendors along the riverbank become lively. After completing your meal at Omicho Market, enjoy light snacks and beverages from the stalls while leisurely savoring a Kanazawa summer twilight along the Saigawa River. The sight of mountain ridges across the river and the shifting colors of the sky as the sun sets is also worth viewing. Securing a good spot near the fireworks venue before the crowds grow thick is an important mission during this time.

Tips

About 15-20 minutes on foot from Omicho Market. To reach the fireworks viewing area (around Ishikawa Prefectural Mameda Simple Ground), walk south from Saigawa Bridge. On the day of the festival, traffic restrictions may be in place in some areas, so check official festival information for traffic regulations in advance. It's highly recommended to use restrooms before securing your spot.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 40 minutes required. The evening Saigawa River has the quiet beauty characteristic of Kanazawa.
