About this spot

This is a vast green park located at the center of Island City, a man-made island built in Hakata Bay. It is equipped with a lawn plaza, a play equipment area, and waterside walking paths, making it a place where everyone from small children to adults can spend time as they please. Facing the sea, the park offers a wonderful sense of openness, making it ideal for relaxing in the gentle spring sunshine. The coastline toward Kashiihama and Mishima Green Bay Walk, tonight's fireworks venue, can be seen nearby from here, so you can get a sense of direction in daylight before dark. Admission to the park is free, so you can let your children play on the lawn for as long as you like.

Tips

Take a Nishitetsu bus bound for Island City, or drive about 10 minutes from Kashii Station. Parking is available. There are several restrooms within the park. Since you can sit directly on the lawn, it may be worth trying out a leisure sheet here. Roads in this area start to get congested when passing through again before the evening fireworks, so allow extra time when moving.
