About this spot

This waterfall is located in Shiozi, Umi Town, Kasuya District, Fukuoka Prefecture, along a mountain path connecting the Hyakken Stone Wall and Koishi Stone Wall of the Ono Castle ruins. Surrounded by deep greenery, it is a nature-rich spot with cool air even in summer. Walking through the forest along with a tour of the historic stone walls, the sound of water and shade of the trees help you forget the summer heat. Take a relaxed rest on the rocks or in the shade of the trees for a good start to the day ahead of tonight's fireworks viewing. Even on days with strong summer sunlight, it stays pleasantly cool among the trees.

Tips

Access is basically by car. Some sections of the walking path around the falls can be slippery, so wear shoes suited for walking. Please keep an eye on small children when near the water. There are few restrooms in the area, so it's reassuring to use one before setting out.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. Around midday, the tree shade is cool and the sound of the falls' water helps you forget the summer heat
