The Kukinoumi Fireworks Festival is Kitakyushu's representative fireworks display held with Donkai Bay in close proximity to the Wakato Bridge as its stage. Approximately 4,500 fireworks illuminate the night sky of Donkai Bay, and the sight of light reflected on the water's surface merging with the silhouette of the bridge embodies the power and emotion unique to a port town like Kitakyushu. Because it's held in autumn, unlike summer fireworks displays, the clearer night sky makes the fireworks' colors appear more vivid, and watching from within the cool sea breeze is exceptional. By the time the 40-minute program concludes, unforgettable memories of an autumn night will be etched alongside the nighttime scenery of Donkai Bay.

The event is held on October 24, 2026 (Saturday) from 19:00 to 19:40. Confirm the event's official announcement regarding whether it will proceed in case of bad weather. After the finale, roads and parking in Wakamatsu Ward become congested, so it's recommended to enjoy the lingering atmosphere along the quay for a while before heading home with staggered departure timing. If driving, confirm parking locations in advance.
