The Fukushima Fireworks Festival is held from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the confluence of the Abukuma River and the Matsukawa River. With about 8,000 fireworks launched, it is one of the largest-scale festivals in the Tohoku region, and against the wide river width unique to a confluence, a varied program continues from grand shakudama bursts to rapid-fire star mine displays. The beauty of the fireworks' light shimmering in the water mirror on the river's surface is also a highlight unique to a riverbed venue. The 60 minutes where the great blooms of light spreading across the night sky meet the night breeze off the river will stay long in your memory as a summer memory of Fukushima. Tips

Check the organizer's official announcements to confirm whether it will proceed in case of bad weather. After it ends, roads around the venue and buses heading toward Fukushima Station get very crowded. Rather than moving right after the finale, it's recommended to enjoy the afterglow on-site for a while before heading home at a staggered time. Checking your return transportation (bus, taxi, or on foot) in advance is reassuring.
