The Nihashi River Greenway Free Plaza, which serves as the special venue for tonight's fireworks festival, is an open grassy park spreading along the Nihashi River (日橋川). The river water is near, and as evening approaches, refreshing river breezes pass through pleasantly. On the festival day, food stalls set up nearby, making it ideal to procure yakisoba, shaved ice, and other treats while securing your spot. As the sun lowers, spectators begin gathering on the grass, so arriving in the 5 PM hour ensures a good location. The sight of Aizu's evening sky reflected in the river is beautiful enough before the fireworks even begin.

喜多方納涼花火大会は、日橋川緑地自由広場の特設会場から打ち上げられる夏の夜の風物詩です。会津盆地の静かな夜空に花火が次々と開き、川面に映る光と周囲の山々に反響する音が会場全体を包みます。川沿いの開けた芝生から見上げる花火は遮るものが少なく、迫力と美しさを存分に楽しめます。地元の人々が毎年心待ちにする夏の大切な一夜で、屋台のにぎわいや観覧客の歓声も含めて、喜多方の夏そのものの雰囲気です。蔵の街で過ごした1日の締めくくりにふさわしい、忘れられないフィナーレです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大会主催者(喜多方市観光物産協会等)の公式発表で当日に確認を。終了後は観覧客が一斉に動くため、駐車場からの車の出入りに時間がかかります。終演後はしばらく川岸で余韻を楽しんでから帰路につくとスムーズです。

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Kitakata Station. Due to congestion of surrounding roads on the festival day, check public transportation and parking near the venue in advance. Confirm the location of restrooms during the day. After sunset, the riverbank becomes dark, so a small light is reassuring.
