About this spot
Held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, starting at 7:30 PM, this is a fireworks festival launched from the waters of the Sea of Japan. Fireworks launched offshore from Michikawa Fishing Port (道川漁港) spread wide across the night sky with the open, unobstructed feeling unique to being over the sea. The launch booms echoing alongside the sound of the waves, and the fireworks' light reflected on the sea surface blending with the scenery of the fishing port, create a power and atmosphere unique to a seaside fireworks festival. Blooming on a summer night in nature-rich Yurihonjo, home to Mount Chokai, the fireworks color the sky with a presence beyond their numbers. The moment the finale's rapid bursts dye the sea and sky is the climax of this whole day.

The event may be canceled or changed due to bad weather or sea conditions, so be sure to check the festival's official announcement on the day to confirm whether it will be held. Roads in the area get congested after the event ends, so it's recommended to savor the afterglow and head home with a staggered departure time.
