A park built on the site of the former Tatebayashi Castle, located in the center of Tatebayashi City. The expansive grassy area facing Lake Shono is a place where young children can freely run about, and you can relax in the shade under trees. Lake Shono is a nature-rich lake with a 4km circumference, and simply strolling while viewing waterfowl and distant greenery is a pleasant experience. Tatebayashi is known as one of Japan's hottest towns, but the waterside of the lake is slightly cooler, making it an ideal rest stop during a summer afternoon. On fireworks festival day, congestion begins in the evening, so spending this time relaxing in the cool shade is a wise choice.

Tips

Approximately 15 minutes walk from Tatebayashi Station on the Tobu Isesaki Line, or about 5 minutes by taxi. Admission and parking are free. Summer sun is intense, so bring a hat and sunscreen. Multiple restrooms throughout the park ensure peace of mind with children.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Early afternoon has fewer crowds, allowing you to use the grass comfortably.
